E.ON Italia’s 2025 Sustainability Report

In 2026, E.ON Italia continued its sustainability reporting journey with the publication of its 2025 Sustainability Report, developed with Amapola’s support for the second consecutive year.

The report presents the company’s key ESG performance and highlights E.ON Italia’s role in the energy transition, with a particular focus on energy affordability, efficiency, solutions for households and businesses, relationships with local communities and responsibility towards people.

The 2025 Report marks a further step in the evolution of E.ON Italia’s sustainability reporting journey. Following the 2024 edition, prepared in accordance with the GRI Standards, this year the company voluntarily adopted the VSME Standard developed by EFRAG, after the changes introduced by the Omnibus package placed it outside the scope of the CSRD.

Adopting the VSME enables E.ON Italia to maintain a structured and consistent approach to sustainability reporting, while also ensuring effective alignment with the data requirements of the wider Group, which remains subject to the CSRD and reports in accordance with the ESRS.

Amapola’s role in the project

Amapola worked alongside E.ON Italia’s sustainability team throughout all the main stages of the reporting process: from defining the methodological approach to data collection; from updating the report index and drafting the content to supporting the review and validation process.

Giving stakeholders a voice

Building on the work carried out for the 2024 Sustainability Report, the project included significant engagement with external stakeholders through targeted qualitative interviews with key experts.

Amapola supported E.ON Italia in preparing and conducting four interviews with expert stakeholders – Key Opinion Leaders selected by the company – and directly conducted the interview with CEO Luca Conti.

The interviews provided an opportunity to explore some of the most significant non-financial topics in greater depth: the triple transition, customer affordability, innovation and digitalisation. The format broadens the scope of the Sustainability Report by giving stakeholders a direct voice.
