La Filippa has published its 2024 Sustainability Report, and we are proud to have supported the company in developing this new document, prepared in accordance with the European VSME standards, designed to ensure clear, accessible and rigorous reporting, internationally recognised.
A project that brings together data and long-term vision, but most importantly people, stories and a tangible, everyday idea of sustainability, experienced both inside and outside the company.
Environmental innovation and social impact: what the report reveals
La Filippa is a different kind of landfill, created in 2008 with the ambition to reshape how waste end-of-life is understood and managed. Located in Cairo Montenotte, Liguria, it has built its identity around circular economy principles, environmental regeneration and territorial stewardship.
The report provides a transparent overview of the company’s environmental, social and economic performance.
Among the most relevant aspects:

a land-recovery and re-vegetation system designed to enhance carbon absorption while immediately improving the landscape

efficient biogas recovery and use, supporting a more responsible management of natural resources

policies supporting workplace inclusion and well-being

initiatives for the local community, from open dialogue with neighbours and shared space regeneration (such as Il prato delle Ferrere) to educational projects with local schools
People behind the numbers
The 2024 report is not just a collection of figures. Behind each number there is a voice, an experience, a story: from those working on the site every day, to students visiting the facility, to the residents living nearby. A diversity of perspectives, united by a shared vision: a business model capable of generating environmental and social value.
