Circular economy and community: La Filippa’s sustainability report special ed. 2020-2021
La Filippa is a new generation sustainable landfill located in Cairo Montenotte. For years an entrepreneurial reality protagonist in the complex sector of special waste disposal, for the latest edition of the Sustainability Report it wanted to tell its story and its sustainable action in an editorial project different from classic reporting documents and entrusted this task to Amapola. The project
The publication, entitled Circular economy and community, not only accounts for all the actions carried out by the enterprise in the field of sustainability, but takes stock of the state of the art of circular economy in a moment of great transformation like the one we are living, determined by the contemporary presence of the pandemic, economic and environmental crisis. A “perfect storm” that reveals itself as an extraordinary opportunity to arrive at a decisive paradigm change in the economy, passing from linear to circular: hence the title of the first chapter of the volume written by Sergio Vazzoler, Amapola partner and environmental communicator, “The perfect storm: how to face it”. The report collects the authoritative voices of those who, from different points of view, analyze the premises and future of the circular economic model. An example is the contribution by Ermete Realacci, President of Fondazione Symbola for Italian qualities, author of the concluding chapter “Italy leader in circular economy: for a safer, civil, gentle world,” an important insight that places the virtuous case of La Filippa in the national context. The central chapters, by Massimo and Carlo Vaccari, respectively President and CEO of La Filippa, and by Federico Poli, General Director of the company, tell the company’s story, the initiatives carried out in the territory, the relationship with the community, the social and environmental impact of its activities.Communication tools
Amapola handled editorial coordination, content editing and coordinated communication of the project. The publication is interactive and exploits all the potential of multimedia, referring to video interviews, insights and documents available online. The publication design (by Paroledavendere) is enriched by two illustrations signed by Riccardo Guasco, appreciated visual artist. To support the publication’s distribution and make its contents available to everyone, a website was also developed (https://bds.lafilippa.it/), from which it is possible to download the document, entirely or in various chapters, and access the videos and interviews cited in the publication.
