Green energy: Gruppo FERA’s sustainability reporting journey

Gruppo FERA – Fabbrica Energie Rinnovabili Alternative – has been active in the renewable energy sector since 2001. Originally specialising in wind power, the Group has progressively expanded its scope over time, developing an industrial profile that today combines renewable energy generation with design, operational and management expertise across the energy value chain.

The Group has developed, designed and built renewable energy plants with a total capacity of more than 200 MW. Today, the clean electricity it feeds into the distribution grid comes exclusively from wind, biogas and hydropower plants.

FERA began its voluntary sustainability reporting journey in 2021, publishing its first Sustainability Report in 2022. Amapola has supported the company from the outset and continued to work alongside FERA on subsequent editions, helping to strengthen its reporting approach and bring greater visibility to its ESG performance.

The Amapola project

FERA’s 2025 Sustainability Report presents the Group’s activities, achievements and commitments across environmental, social and governance topics. As part of FERA’s voluntary reporting journey, the document is designed to provide a clear and transparent view of how the Group’s sustainability performance is evolving over time.

The Report was prepared with reference to the VSME – Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standards for SMEs developed by EFRAG, applying both the Basic and Comprehensive Modules, in continuity with the approach adopted for the previous edition.

This year’s report also includes a dedicated assessment of the social impact generated by two of the Group’s wind farms, together with a detailed review of FERA’s sites in relation to environmentally sensitive natural areas. These analyses provide a more precise understanding of how the Group’s facilities interact with the environmental and social contexts in which they operate.

Amapola supported FERA with reporting strategy, document and data collection, content structuring, copywriting and the overall visual design of the publication.

The report was designed to make the content clear and accessible, while reflecting FERA’s corporate identity and making data, results and targets easier to interpret through infographics, tables and data visualisation. Interactive navigation and clickable indexes also make the document more intuitive and easier to explore.
