Attiviamo Buone Energie: the AMAG Group’s 2023 Sustainability Report goes online with the Smart Report
The multiutility in the province of Alessandria and the Langa Astigiana area publishes its new report and updates its sustainability portal.
The AMAG Group has published its sixth Sustainability Report, for financial year 2023, a document that reflects its continuous commitment to responsible processes and relations. Entitled “Attiviamo Buone Energie,” (we activate good energy), the Group Report stresses AMAG’s intention of promoting sustainable growth in harmony with the community it serves. This year once again, the AMAG Group Report is accompanied by a Smart Report, a web reporting format designed by Amapola in collaboration with BEWE, which digitalises information in an agile, effective online presentation using an accessible language and engaging form of storytelling.
For six years, our agency has worked with the AMAG Group on its reporting project: for the 2023 edition, we handled stakeholder engagement and data collection activities, text editing, the graphic design and communication tools like the summary and web portal.
The AMAG Group’s commitment
The AMAG Group has always been at the service of the community, providing essential services such as the integrated water service, gas distribution and environmental services for residents in Alessandria and the Langa Astigiana area. In 2017, the organisation embarked on a reporting and transparency journey to detail the action it takes to have a positive effect on the community’s economic, social and environmental life.
Concrete measurable results
In 2023, the Group confirmed its intention of strengthening the three sustainability pillars – environmental, economic and social – by integrating them more closely with its corporate strategy. The results achieved include distribution of 86.2 million m3 of gas, the supply of 18.4 million m3 of drinking water and the generation of value for 56 million euro, with a constant focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, which in 2023 amounted to 2,348 tonnes of CO2.
Innovative sustainable projects
An important chapter in the Report is devoted to the projects implemented during the course of the year. They include the energy platform to convert plant cuttings into energy, which was officially launched in 2023, and funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan for the smart water network to cut water leakages. Another significant project was the 2023 Sustainability Day, during which more than 1,000 students from the area were involved in educational and information activities designed to promote the sustainability culture.

The Smart Report (which can be seen HERE) for the AMAG Group Report is an important development in the approach to communicating sustainability: a digital tool, it opens the document up to dialogue with stakeholders through an intuitive solution enhanced with interactive icons and simple, direct language, and has been designed to facilitate circulation of the content to a broad diversified public, so helping to build a sustainability culture.
