The project for Carrefour Italia’s impact report

Carrefour Italia is part of the Carrefour Group, one of the largest distribution chains internationally, present in over 40 countries. In Italy, the company has about 1,200 points of sale, of which more than 970 in franchising. Furthermore, since 2023 Carrefour Italia is a Benefit Company through its subsidiary GS S.p.A., the first large retail distribution company at national level to make this choice. In 2024 Carrefour Italia published its second Impact Report as a Benefit Company, confirming the strategic integration of sustainability in its activities and throughout the entire value chain. The document presents concrete environmental and social results, including:
    • -35% of Scope 1 and 2 emissions compared to 2019
    • -55% of food waste compared to 2016
    • 87% of private label product packaging is recyclable, reusable or compostable.
    • 42 tons of salt and sugar reduced in Carrefour brand products compared to 2023.
    • 67 companies adhering to the Food Transition Pact in Italy, a community of partners and companies united to promote food transition.
The Report is structured around the four common benefit purposes that guide the company: sustainable food transition, inclusive work, shared value creation, environmental impact reduction.

Amapola’s contribution

Amapola supported Carrefour Italia in multiple phases of the document design and implementation, working in synergy with partner SCS Consulting. In particular, we handled content coordination, graphic-visual design, and the creation of the summary version. Thanks to an integrated and strategic approach, the Impact Report was conceived as a true communication and relationship tool. A document capable of enhancing corporate identity and achieved results, clearly narrating the evolution of choices and commitments. At the same time, the project intends to strengthen dialogue with all stakeholders, making even the most technical content accessible and contributing to building a transparent, authentic and coherent narrative. An example of how reporting can become a lever for trust, engagement and sharing.
