For the third year in a row, Amapola has been named a Top Performer in the TOP ESG Consulenti guide, ranking 5th overall and 3rd in the MID category. The result comes from an increasingly broad survey of the market, offering a valuable snapshot of how the sector is evolving, which skills are gaining ground and where ESG consulting is heading next.
Amapola has once again been named a Top Performer in the TOP ESG Consulenti 2026 guide — a recognition we are proud to receive. For the third consecutive year, we are among the best-performing consulting firms in ETicaNews’ analysis of the ESG Identity of consulting companies.
We ranked 5th overall out of 132 companies, while among the 56 firms in our category — MID, covering companies with revenues between €500,000 and €2 million — we placed 3rd. Two results that mean a great deal to us, particularly as they come in the edition with the highest number of participants since the research began.
A closer look at the ESG consulting market
Now in its fourth edition, TOP ESG Consulenti involved 132 companies out of 420 firms mapped across Italy and expanded its analysis to 13 areas of assessment.
The guide itself is evolving too. This year it is available in a new digital format, designed to make it easier to browse, as well as download.
For us, however, the real value of the project lies in its ability to go beyond the rankings. The research provides an up-to-date picture of the sector and of the services and skills that are changing, while also creating opportunities for dialogue among those working on ESG issues every day. This is particularly valuable at a time when regulations, priorities and companies’ expectations continue to shift.

Consulting also means knowing how to navigate change
Sustainability today operates in a far less straightforward environment than it did just a few years ago. The regulatory landscape is changing, reporting frameworks are being reconsidered, and scrutiny of green claims and greenwashing is increasing. At the same time, companies still need to make decisions, turn their ESG ambitions into action and integrate sustainability more deeply into their business.
This is also why we find it particularly interesting that the 2026 edition explores the idea of a new ESG narrative. It is not simply a matter of finding new words, but of understanding how sustainability can be communicated and supported when the context itself becomes more complex.
For consultants, this is part of the job: making sense of complexity without oversimplifying it, connecting different areas of expertise and perspectives, and helping organisations find their bearings as the landscape changes.
In this respect, dialogue within the sector matters too. No single consultancy has all the answers. Being able to see how the market is evolving, which questions are emerging and which approaches are gaining ground helps all of us do our work better.
And to keep doing it every day with the same spirit of curiosity and discovery that drives us forward.
