Warp and weft as a way to make sense of complexity, uncover connections and understand how many different threads come together to create impact. This is the idea behind “Untangling the Threads”, our latest Impact Report.
Every year, we choose a concept to frame the story of our journey in our Impact Report. It is not simply a way to give the document a distinctive identity, but a lens through which we can bring together data, projects, people and change. For 2025, we chose warp and weft.
We are living through a time in which sustainability is having to contend with increasing complexity. Rules are changing, priorities are shifting, and social and environmental pressures are growing. It is not always easy to tell the difference between genuine transformation and measures that risk becoming little more than compliance exercises.
For us, untangling the threads means exactly that: identifying the different strands, understanding how they connect and trying to see the bigger picture they create together.
A year of numbers, people and relationships
In 2025, we devoted a total of 1,044 hours to our benefit-purpose activities and delivered 19 projects for the community. We worked with 97 clients and reached a milestone that reflects the journey we have built over the years: 240 sustainability reports completed to date.
But our impact also — and above all — starts with Amapola’s 22 people. Over the course of the year, each person received an average of 45 hours of training, while we continued to invest in flexibility and smart working, with 933 days worked remotely.
We also strengthened our commitment to gender equity and work-life balance. Alongside established measures such as enhanced parental leave, in 2025 we introduced new initiatives. These include blind CV screening, designed to support fairer recruitment processes, and a caregiver allowance, providing an additional day of leave for employees with caring responsibilities.
Five goals to make our impact clearer
2025 was also a year in which we reviewed how we structure and measure our commitments as a Benefit Corporation. Our common benefit goals were streamlined from eleven to five, making our areas of action clearer, more coherent and easier to track.
This reflects a simple belief: measuring impact is not about collecting more data. It is about being more thoughtful about what we measure and understanding how our activities contribute to meaningful change.
New tools to measure and understand
Our Report is evolving too. For the first time, it uses the VSME – the European voluntary sustainability reporting standard for SMEs – as a reference framework, while continuing to link our activities and objectives to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The Report also includes our first Social Impact Assessment, carried out for Meet the CSR Leaders. Created to bring younger generations into conversation with sustainability professionals, the initiative will return in October 2026 for its fifth edition at the Salone della CSR e dell’innovazione sociale.
The Social Impact Assessment has enabled us to take a further step forward: moving beyond simply recording what we have done to gain a deeper understanding of the effects our activities generate. It is an approach we want to embed more systematically in the way we design projects and work.
A journey that continues
“Being a Benefit Corporation means embracing complexity without looking for shortcuts. Numbers are essential to guide our work, but not everything that creates value produces immediate results. Some impacts only become visible over time, when the different threads begin to reveal a pattern. That is why we continue to measure, learn and improve, bringing business goals and common benefit together.”
Anna Filippucci, Elisa De Bonis, Irene La Porta and Micol Burighel, Amapola Impact Council
Our 2025 Report tells the story of a pattern that takes shape day by day, hour by hour — with threads still to be rearranged, knots to be untied and parts of the weave still unfinished.
For us, this is precisely what “Untangling the Threads” means: continuing to make sense of complexity, uncover connections and better understand the impact we want to help create.
