Listening and dialogue with territory and local community as a transparency strategy

“Transparency and dialogue forge trust”: this is the phrase chosen to represent the value of the “Solvay LAB” project, selected as an international best practice in Solvay’s Annual Report, an international chemical group present in 52 countries with 26,000 employees. The Solvay LAB project is a listening and dialogue journey with the territory and local community, conceived and implemented by Amapola together with the management of the Spinetta Marengo plant, in the province of Alessandria, to facilitate transparency and sharing and structure and organize the modalities of relationship between citizens and plant managers. The structured listening project lasted 1 year, with 5 meetings, 30 participants in each workshop, 150 evaluation questionnaires and 5 presentation documents of the meetings published online on the plant website. A path that allowed the company to maintain constant attention to the instances and questions of the local community regarding the environmental and social impacts of industrial activity.
