The value from participating in a common project
L’Or�al mobilizes its employees every year in a civic action day, the Citizen Day. Since 2010, internal resources dedicate an entire working day of volunteering to offer their skills and energy to non-profit associations in social and environmental fields. Amapola has been a project partner since 2018 for L’Or�al Italia and handles the annual general strategy, selection and coordination of NGO partners and organization of event days. The event concept celebrates “the beauty of encounter” and the human value of giving and receiving time dedicated to collaboration in solidarity initiatives.
Project numbers
In 2018, L’Or�al Italia’s Citizen Day saw the participation of 390 company resources and support for 11 associations. In 2021, to face the difficulties and limitations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the L’Or�al Italia Citizen Day edition took place in hybrid form, alternating in-person events with digital sessions that opened doors to skills-based volunteering (here the dedicated project sheet).
The latest edition of L’Or�al Italia’s Citizen Day took place on July 9, 2024 and saw the participation of 300 employees from Milan and Settimo Torinese offices who, with energy and passion, carried out a total of 12 activities in presence for the beneficiaries of the 9 associations involved. Year after year, the initiative’s value is confirmed and the Citizen Day contributes to strengthening employee team spirit and creating a bridge with the communities where L’Or�al Italia operates.
