A Social Report that speaks clearly, with numbers, impact and people
AVSI entrusted Amapola with the evolution of its Social Report, to more powerfully and clearly communicate the impact of its 300+ development and humanitarian aid projects carried out in 41 countries. The document, titled Azioni di pace (Actions of Peace), places at its core the organisation’s daily commitment to promoting integral human development, even in contexts marked by conflict and fragility.
Amapola worked alongside the organisation on the strategic and communication redesign of the document, overseeing editing, graphic design, the development of an English version (also adapted into French and Spanish), and a series of communication and outreach tools. For the first time, the environmental impact of three Italian offices was also calculated through an emissions assessment based on the GHG Protocol, with the technical support of our partner 3i Efficientamento Energetico.
The Amapola project
The project focused on the clarity of the narrative and the communication power of numbers, results and stories: over 4 million direct beneficiaries, an aggregated budget of €111.7 million, and 300 active projects in 41 countries. In addition to taking care of the editing and graphic design of the report and its various adaptations, we also developed a set of communication tools: social media cards for digital channels, a video, an executive summary and a presentation, all designed to highlight the content and messages of the Report and open it up to dialogue with stakeholders on different occasions.
Special attention was devoted to strategic topics such as alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). But the heart of the Report remains the human dimension, with stories and results that show how every AVSI initiative is, first and foremost, an action for peace.
