Doing sustainability along the banks of the Po
Allara is an industrial reality that has operated in the extractive sector for more than fifty years and has achieved a leading position in the supply of natural aggregates, concrete and asphalt in the North-West of the country. To tell its sustainable vocation, carried forward in many years of protecting the territory and nature, the Group entrusted Amapola with the task of designing and writing the first social and environmental report of the company.
The result is an agile and informative publication with the evocative title “Doing sustainability on the banks of the Po“. The Report starts from the presentation and introduction of sustainable practices in the extractive industry (water reuse, energy saving, environmental recovery, biodiversity protection, renaturalization of areas) to then move on to Allara’s renaturalization experience in Casale Monferrato, at the Baraccone locality on the banks of the Po. There is no lack of a look to the future, with the definition of the Group’s commitment to achieving the sustainable development goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
The pages of the Report are interspersed with boxes that deepen the history of Allara, the environmental protection projects involving the Po Park and the Group’s connection with the territory, materialized in numerous support and enhancement activities such as the design of the Eternot Park, with important symbolic value for the city. The publication is enriched by images of the banks of the Po where Allara operates, a true natural heritage that the Group has committed to protecting and recovering, through the restoration of local flora and fauna.
