Responsibility looks to the future: Alfasigma’s third sustainability report

Alfasigma, a leading company in the pharmaceutical sector, continues its sustainability reporting journey relying on Amapola for the third year. The agency supports the Bologna-based pharmaceutical group in its gradual path towards sustainability, providing strategic support on these issues and assisting the Steering Committee in drafting the Sustainability Report, in coordinating internal listening and dialogue activities, in stakeholder engagement processes and in collecting ESG data.

The title of Alfasigma’s 2021 Sustainability Report is a tribute to the words and spirit of founder Marino Golinelli, recently deceased: responsibility looks to the future. These are the two dimensions on which Alfasigma is building its sustainability path: the first is expressed in the passion for its sector and for caring for people, as well as in attention to stakeholders and the desire to always put “patients at the center”; the second takes shape in the commitment dedicated to scientific research and innovation processes.

The 2021 Sustainability Report highlights the numerous activities carried out by the Group. From social responsibility initiatives aimed at the community and associations, to projects dedicated to Alfasigma people and new generations growing in the company (such as the Alfasigma Millennial Advisory Board), from results obtained in the environmental field and impact reduction, to all the research & development and open innovation initiatives supported.

The Amapola project

Amapola handled the Alfasigma report in all its aspects: from data collection, in collaboration with the company’s internal team, to text writing, from narrative editing to graphic-visual design. The new document, while falling into the category of voluntary reports, was drafted within the framework of the most updated international standards. Attention to stakeholders has also grown, who were listened to and involved with ad hoc interviews on material issues for the company.

To enhance the company’s history and identity, the 2021 Report is enriched by a precious iconographic apparatus that features the contemporary artworks permanently displayed in the offices and headquarters throughout Alfasigma. A choice that reflects the company’s attention to beauty and its artistic and cultural dimension.

The document’s graphic framework was designed to ensure the best data presentation: the images of artworks and text paragraphs dialogue with each other, alternating with tables and summary pages with 2021 highlights that make the narrative simple and comprehensive and make reading and understanding the document more immediate.

To “bring the company’s sustainability to life” Amapola created a video, in collaboration with the Corporate Communication office, that tells Alfasigma’s “Sustainable Value,” showing in just over 1:30″ the main aspects of the 3 ESG pillars for the company.

Similarly, to expand the audience of potential users, Amapola designed a “pocket” version that makes the Report content more accessible. The summary will be translated into English to be usable also by the Group’s foreign subsidiaries.
