An increasingly structured reporting process, evolving over time together with the company’s vision.
With the publication of its 2024 Sustainability Report, Arriva Italia confirms its commitment to responsibility, innovation and decarbonisation – and once again chooses to do so with us.
We are proud to have been at the company’s side from day one: starting from the first edition published in 2023, this is the third report we have developed together. Year after year, the project is consolidating as a strategic tool to communicate values, figures and results.
European standards, business vision
In 2025, Arriva Italia voluntarily chose to adopt the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), structuring the report according to the principle of double materiality. This decision strengthens transparency and the company’s strategic focus, while looking ahead to future regulatory developments. The report also obtained external assurance and emissions were certified by an independent third party.
A company looking to the future
A leader in local public transport in several provinces across Northern Italy and in Rome, Arriva Italia carried almost 50 million passengers in 2024, with a fleet of 1,456 vehicles and 1,478 employees, covering a total of 51.6 million kilometres. Total revenues amounted to 182 million euro.
The company’s commitment to decarbonisation is moving forward decisively: thanks to 45.9 million euro of investments in fleet renewal, by the end of the year 32% of the vehicles were “clean”, a share set to rise to 40% by the end of 2025. These figures and targets clearly reflect a concrete transition towards lower-impact mobility.
At the same time, the company continues to invest in initiatives for its people, with a focus on training, diversity and inclusion, as well as for the communities in which it operates.
Our contribution
For this third edition, Amapola’s support covered every stage of the project:
• updating the double materiality analysis;
• data collection and content drafting, also thanks to the platform provided by our partner RE2N;
• graphic design and layout;
• support throughout the external assurance process;
• translation of the full Report into English;
• development of communication tools to enhance and disseminate the contents, including a short-form version of the report in Italian and English;
• and, as in 2024, six local reports dedicated to the main operating areas.
These local reports are one of the most distinctive features of the project: tools designed to highlight the connection with local communities, make data accessible and easy to understand, and facilitate dialogue with the territories.
We are glad to be part of this evolving sustainability journey once again this year.
