The Water Day in the Brescia territory

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2zO7Ctj6pk
In 2022 in Torbole Casaglia, in the province of Brescia, the first Provincial Water Day of the territory was held, an initiative that became a fixed appointment repeated year by year (today it’s called Water Day). The event, promoted and organized by Acque Bresciane benefit society through constant dialogue with its stakeholders, was born to strengthen relationships, bring territories closer, build an increasingly strong bond between water and community, involve young people, start an environmental education path, influence consumption choices and create concrete experiences. The idea stems from ABCommunity, the multi-stakeholder table organized by Acque Bresciane in 2021 with Amapola’s support. The structured listening and stakeholder engagement process, still ongoing, aims to involve the company’s main strategic interlocutors in its sustainability journey. The group, composed of territorial stakeholders, meets with the objective of supporting the utility in spreading sustainability and saving culture and in valorizing the precious water resource. The Acque Bresciane 2045 Sustainability Plan serves as guide, the document through which the company has ratified its commitments and integrated them into a long-term sustainability strategy. There are 9 objectives identified by the company, each accompanied by concrete projects and evaluation metrics for their effectiveness. Starting from three of these objectives (#3 “Flow waters and purification”, #5 “User centrality” and #9 “Sustainability promotion”) the ABCommunity table began to transform written text into concrete actions.

The event

The Water Day organized by Acque Bresciane is a big celebration that brings the community together to celebrate the culture of sustainability, spread awareness about the value of water resources and confirm the shared commitment to protect the Planet. Each edition is held in a different city in the territory. The latest in 2024 was held in Darfo Boario Terme. The event hosts various awareness moments about the value of water resources, from technology exhibitions to presentations of innovative research projects, from interactive laboratories designed for different audience segments from adults to children to exhibitions and cultural activities. Accompanying everything are also entertainment moments, gastronomic stands and radio animation.

What does Amapola handle?

Amapola, already alongside Acque Bresciane in its structured listening and stakeholder engagement journey, supports the utility in organizing and communicating the event. Various activities we implement to structure an integrated and multi-channel communication strategy:
    • The project visual identity, through creating the logo and coordinated image that characterize all on and offline event communication. Also in this project phase, ABCommunity table stakeholders are involved, actively present throughout the event realization process.
    • The project’s social communication. Amapola handles the editorial plan approaching the event on the utility’s Instagram and LinkedIn channels to make the initiative known, support citizen participation and spread awareness on sustainability and water themes. Many contents created for the occasion, including reels, video-pills, infographics and social cards.
    • The communication materials distributed during the Day: posters, banners and maps of stands and activities. For the Acque Bresciane stand and with the collaboration of numerous subjects adhering to ABCommunity, the water saving decalogue was created, an awareness tool declined in posters and also shared through social channels in the days before the event.
    • The video content: in addition to video-pills used for social promotion of the initiative, Amapola also handles the event reportage.
    • Support for editing the Riflessi magazine and stakeholder interviews. Amapola follows the Riflessi project, Acque Bresciane’s magazine dedicated to water and community, since its birth. On the occasion of the 2023 and 2024 Provincial Days, we supported the company in editing the special issue also released at newsstands for the occasion , particularly in interviewing stakeholders involved in the event.
