Looking forward to seeing you at the eleventh edition of the CSR Show
The 2023 Show for Amapola: round tables on key issues, video interviews, reporting and the Meet the CSR Leaders project dedicated to the new generations.
Amapola is under starter’s orders for the CSR and Social Innovation Show, Italy’s most important national event for the sustainability community and businesses, organisations and professionals who put corporate social responsibility at the heart of their activities. The theme of the CSR Show’s eleventh edition is Living change: in corporate and domestic environments, in training and finance, in the community and in culture, a radical transformation towards a more sustainable, more responsible model is underway at every level of society. The change needs to be accompanied by a new values compass, a commitment to innovation and an acknowledgement of the important contribution everyone makes to sustainability development.
At the Show, we shall be getting to know people and situations that are embracing the change: for Amapola, this year’s event will offer a packed schedule of round tables, interviews and new editions of popular projects such as Meet the CSR Leaders.
The numbers of the 2023 edition
3 days, more than 400 organisations and companies, over 100 events including round tables, 12 theme-based areas, initiatives for the new generations, award presentations. The cultural program can be viewed online (here). The CSR Show will be held in Milan (at the Bocconi University in Via Roentgen 1), in hybrid form. Visitors may attend in person, subject to registration (on this link). All the events will also be live-streamed.
Amapola at the CSR Show: the round tables we are taking part in
We shall be moderating and coordinating a number of round tables with Luca Valpreda (founder and partner), Sergio Vazzoler (partner), Emilio Conti (senior consultant), Micol Burighel (head of communication). Here are the details:
4 October 2023
At 12 noon Emilio Conti coordinates the meeting Train vs plane: is sustainable mobility just a question of CO2?, focusing on the EU decision to make shifting a significant portion of air traffic to railways one of its sustainable mobility objectives. Besides emissions, what are the other environmental and social impacts of this decision? The round table will hear from rail operators and airline operators.
At 1 p.m., Micol Burighel presents the “Quaderni del Salone” collection of notebooks, a new initiative for the eleventh edition of the CSR Show. The intention of the collection is to offer flexible tools covering a variety of questions through the voices of experts, young people, organisations: impact measurement, the importance of DE&I strategies, the future of agrifood, environmental communication.
Amapola’s last date for the day is with Sergio Vazzoler at 3.15 p.m. for the round table Sustainable and innovative: the future of packaging is now. The EU’s environmental policies place great importance on ensuring that packaging is as sustainable as possible by 2030. This is a fast-moving sector where many players are investing in innovation: from studies on zero-impact materials to research into functional solutions and the circular economy.
5 October 2023
At 1.30 p.m., Emilio Conti moderates the talk on Renewable energy and innovation. The transformation of the energy system produces benefits for sustainability because, besides reducing energy consumption, it also optimises the energy mix: for example, by allowing renewable sources to be used during peak production times. The companies taking part in the talk will describe their experiences in energy self-generation and the increasingly central role of renewable resources.
At 4 p.m., Luca Valpreda will moderate a meeting entitled Leading the ecological transition: the role of the utilities, which will examine the vital role of these organisations in educating citizens to help them take a responsible approach to the ecological transition. Programs for schools, media campaigns, territorial events: a wide range of tools are available to strengthen ties with clients whose knowledge and awareness continues to rise.
6 October 2023
For the last day of the Show, at 9.30 a.m. Sergio Vazzoler will lead a talk on The impacts of artificial intelligence and technological innovation. A highly topical issue, which will be examined in terms of the environmental impact of the growing use of digital devices. Energy and water consumption is rising, as is use of rare resources and minerals. The talk will also look at the end of life of electronic waste, a growing concern for management of traditional waste.
Meet the CSR Leaders is back for the second year. And our video team will be there!
After its debut in 2022, Meet the CSR Leaders returns for another year. The project was developed by Amapola with the CSR Show, for the new generations who imagine a working future in sustainability. In a special space at the show, sustainability professionals will be on hand to offer one-to-one orientation sessions for young people (university students but also youngsters entering the world of employment). The sessions will be an opportunity to examine a range of sustainability issues and see how to build a career in this area. Click here to register.
As always, our video team will be at the Show. Interviews, reports, short videos: as in previous years, we shall be capturing the voices, faces and spirit of the CSR Show.
See you there!
PS: remember to register 😉
