Energia in Energia: Amapola partners with local schools to raise awareness on sustainability

This year, we are proud sponsors of Energia in Energia, an initiative by Associazione Ideale that educates younger generations on environmental and energy-related issues.
The 8th edition of Energia in Energia is now underway! This educational project, promoted by Associazione Ideale of 3i Group, introduces students to renewable energy and more sustainable ways of living. This year, Amapola is sponsoring the initiative, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability education and youth engagement.
Energia in Energia: A science competition
Since 2017, Energia in Energia has involved over 3,500 students, with 170 classes participating and 130 projects developed. Over the past six editions, the initiative has expanded its reach across the entire province of Alessandria, becoming a key educational reference point in the region. The project is made possible through the collaboration of the City of Alessandria and the University of Eastern Piedmont, both of which play an active role in its implementation. In particular, the Department of Science and Technological Innovation (DISIT) hosts the training sessions for teachers taking part in the Science Competition.
The program aligns with key topics of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, introducing younger generations to the challenges of the ecological transition. The theme for the 2024/2025 edition is: “The Sun: A (R)enewable Energy Source”. The initiative, designed for teachers and students, includes an accredited training seminar for educators, educational materials, hands-on peer-to-peer science workshops led by students from ITIS Volta – IS Sobrero, and a science competition culminating in a final event. Participating classes will present their projects to a panel of experts, with cash prizes awarded for educational materials.
The 2024/2025 Edition
The launch event took place on October 7, 2024, bringing together 150 students and showcasing winning models from previous editions. On January 23, 2025, the first phase of the program concluded with the teacher training seminar, featuring academic and institutional experts. Among the speakers were Sergio Vazzoler (Amapola), Francesco Daquarti (3i Group), professors Chiara Bisio, Paolo Trivero, and Federico Bensi (University of Eastern Piedmont), Alessandria’s City Councillor Irene Molina, and Dr. Gianfranco Durante from the Galileo Galilei Astronomical Group APS.
Why is Amapola supporting this project?
We believe that sustainability is not just a concept—it’s a tangible way to rethink how we live our daily lives. Educating younger generations is about more than just imparting knowledge; it’s about building awareness and responsibility for the future. The ecological transition happens through everyday choices: how we produce and consume energy, how we care for the environment, how we integrate sustainable technology, and how we design and live in the spaces around us.
Energia in Energia is an opportunity to show students that science and sustainability are not just theoretical concepts—they can have a direct, positive impact on their lives. That’s why Amapola enthusiastically supports this initiative, convinced that real change starts with knowledge.
A project that blends education, experimentation, and active student engagement, making science more accessible, inspiring, and impactful.
