In the tenth year of Italy’s leading national exhibition for the CSR community, a new project makes its debut to help young people interested in a career path in sustainability: Meet the CSR Leaders. Promoted by the Salone della CSR e dell’Innovazione Sociale in partnership with Amapola, the sessions will be held during the three-day event (3, 4 and 5 October 2022), at the Bocconi University in Milan.

Sustainability professionals will be available to meet interested students in a special area at the tradeshow. Students may book a direct one-to-one orientation session lasting approximately 20 minutes with an expert. During the meeting, they will be able to discuss sustainability issues and learn how to plan a career in this field.

The professionals will be available at these times:

  • Monday 3/10 from 3 to 5 pm
  • Tuesday 4/10 from 10 am to noon and from 3 to 5 pm
  • Wednesday 5/10 from 10 am to noon and from 3 to 5 pm

Private sessions may be booked on this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/biglietti-meet-the-csr-leaders-416569780427 no later than 30/09/2022.

Why take part in Meet the CSR Leaders

What qualifications do you need for a career in sustainability? What hard skills and soft skills are necessary for CSR specialists? What academic path should be followed to become a CSR manager, or follow an organisation’s environmental and social strategy? What sort of work experiences are useful to develop the knowhow for these roles? The sustainability professionals at the CSR exhibition will answer these and other questions, offering their own personal and career experiences as examples and chatting with students.

Meet the CSR Leaders is a way to promote wide-ranging sustainability knowledge and look to the future, helping the specialists of tomorrow find their way in a working world where sustainability expertise is essential.

THE CSR EXHIBITION AND SOCIAL INNOVATION

The purpose of the CSR exhibition – promoted by the Bocconi University, Sustainability Makers (the new name of CSR Manager Network), Unioncamere, Global Compact Network Italia, ASviS, Fondazione Sodalitas, Koinètica – is to keep attention focused on sustainability throughout the year, to collect and share positive experiences, to organise meetings with different social players. The 2021 show was managed with a hybrid formula where, in addition to the speakers, the audience at the Bocconi attended in limited numbers. All the events were live-streamed.

Here are some numbers: 231 organisations, 100 events (available on the Salone YouTube channel), 375 speakers, 1,500 people in two days, more than 14,000 remote connections, 874 media items, 15 stages of the CSR Giro d’Italia, 1 publication from the Egea publishing house, 131 projects in the CSR Gallery digital exhibition.

The exhibition had a significant presence on the web: through the website www.csreinnovazionesociale.it; the weekly newsletter sent to more than 11,000 readers; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn profiles as well as the YouTube channel.

The CSR tradeshow has had ISO 20121 certification since 2015; Bureau Veritas Italia has certified the last six editions as a “Sustainable event” in the development and management stages.

THE 2022 EDITION

The title of the 10th CSR tradeshow is Connessioni sostenibili [Sustainable Connections]. In the transition towards sustainable development, coordination of the strategies and activities of the various social players needs to be improved, moving well beyond simple collaboration. Finding effective solutions to social and environmental problems is not easy: in an ever more interconnected world, a multistakeholder, multidisciplinary approach is best, where everyone’s skills and resources are pooled.
